about
Hi! I’m Gyamfuah, but my friends call me Gyam [pronounced “Gem” like a precious stone]. I’m a Ghanaian-American sista, mother, wife, artist, and researcher.
Gyam’s Underground represents an amalgamation of my artistic expressions and intellectual interests. I handcraft dolls, puppets, and clothing for and inspired by children of African descent and lovers of Africa.
I share my creations as mediums for cultural representation, storytelling, and teaching.
